It will cost you a bunch of sales in the long run. Great product booyahĬomments: Can't believe you guys dropped the ball and changed the great colors xcaliber had going on these baits! Big mistake. I can hear it coming in to the boat from 15 yards away. The tungsten in this thing is SERIOUSLY loud. ASAP!Ĭomments: Caught my PB on the 3/4oz version in Rayburn Red on lake Eaufala in the prespawn. I'm a believer, will definitely purchase more of these baits.Ĭomments: Oxbow? Citrus Shad? Wounded Chartreuse Bream? Sexy Shad? Lemon-Lime? Come on, Booyah! Bring back the good Excalibur colors. 5 casts in and then BAM, stuck a 4lber from shore. Best lure all around any condition I've ever used is a chrome and black one knocker.Ĭomments: Bought the 1/2 oz blue shiner and decided to throw it this morning in stained water. Chrome and black sells for like 20 a piece on eBay regularly. You've got to do better than that Pradco.Ĭomments: Thanks BOO-NAH for taking our good colors. Booyah doesn't even offer a color with a Chartreuse base color. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, is better around here in stained to dirty water than the XR50 in Lemon Lime or Oxbow. As a result I will continue to purchase the originals on ebay until they're all gone.įrom: Unknown - West Bloomfield, MI 9/4/19Ĭomments: This is the same bait as the original Xcalibur, but the colors are awful. I recently wrote to Booyah expressing my concerns and was told no changes are planned. It's a shame because the excaliburs were some of the best crankbaits ever produced. Many of the original color patterns are gone and the paint jobs are not high quality. Yes, the old Xcal colors were cool, and I have quite a few that were exclusives that slay the fish, but don't hesitate to try this one.Ĭomments: Winter time bait!! This bait catches fish especially on pressured lakes! I like the one knocker all winter then swim to the hard knocker early spring! Only drawback is He hooks are garbage! Owner stingers fix that problem!!Ĭomments: Regardless of what pradco will tell you, these baits are not on par with the original Xcalibur baits. The internal guts are the same and I firmly think the fish like it just as much as the old version. Using the old Xcaliburs is a confidence thing (I have plenty and still use them). I took flipping fish in 3-7’ of water and only had a couple other bites.Comments: Great bait. There is a ton of new growth and it seems much of the dead hydrilla has finally washed out. Both fish were near to the edge of the hydrilla and knocked it on the drop. I flipped the new forming hydrilla matts and ended up pulling 2 more fish for a limit – a 2.5lbs and a 3.5lbs. Once again, there were little minnow everywhere and fish chasing them. I hit the little grass point by the pier where I caught fish pre-spawn. I took a 3 lbs fish ripping the new hydrilla growth in 6-8’ but after sitting on the area for 10 minutes nothing else. I hit the embankment of the barge canal south of Orange Springs briefly and got one bite then turned around and fished the flat (following one of the cuts going to shore that I saw on Google Maps) with a one knocker. There was quite a bit of surface action in the river however it seemed to be gar. Basically, I flipped hydrilla along with whatever else I could find moving down river not getting any bites. From there I hopped around a bit moving down river. I was fishing pretty quick all day only doing a one pump and go.

Once again, fishing isolated matts caught in the pad islands – nadda.

I tried a trap in the bay to the west briefly without luck and then hit the mouth of Orange Springs. There were fish chasing what looked like baby shad or small minnow but I couldn’t get them to take a topwater (Rage Tail) or a mini trap. I focused on isolated matts caught up in lily pads and holes created by lily pads.

Then again on the second pass and with a 2 nd flip on the second pass actually took the bait. The 5 actually bit early in the morning on the first pass. I took 2 fish a 5lbs and 2lbs using a 1.5oz setup and a punch skirt. I flipped a small inlet in the cut right out of Kenwood running towards Orange Springs focusing on isolated matted stuff (spatterdock, hyacinth, etc.). WEATHER: partly cloudy with a high in the low 90’s, winds kicked up to 15-20 after 10amĮSTIMATED CALENDER PERIOD: post-spawn, pre-summerīITE TIMES: before 9am and then after 3pmįISH BEHAVIOR: I fished shallow and worked my way down the Oklawaha from Kenwood today looking for spots for the upcoming Xtreme tourney. WATER COLOR & VISIBILITY: tannic, really clear and clean
